The Garden Gate Project
Collaboration since March 2013

The Garden Gate Project is a community garden based in Northdown Park, Cliftonville, focused on promoting community wellbeing and inclusion through sustainable  growing, cultivation and engagement.

Since March 2013, The WildArt Group (along with fellow artist Claire Budd) have been working with the Garden Gate through holding seasonal Community Art Day events. These have involved various art activities which creatively interact with naturally available materials, allowing individuals of all ages and competencies to express themselves in more experimental ways, whilst contributing to the sustainable enhancement of the garden. The Garden Gate volunteers also kindly provide a lunch for all participants, using fresh and healthy produce from the garden.

Activities are adapted and varied according to what's seasonally available. These have included: Stefani-making (woven vine wreaths), batik and tie-dyeing with natural vegetable dyes, clay sculpture, decorating natural objects, willow weaving and land art installations.
